Hello! Welcome to my first blog in this series, that I’ve titled Endocation. Around Christmas time I’d been trying to work out what to do for Endometriosis awareness month, when I saw a lot of vloggers doing Vlogmas. This gave me the idea for doing something every day, but (if you follow me on Instagram you’ll probably already know this) I’m not too confident in front of the camera and didn’t like the idea of throwing myself in at the deep end with a month of vlogging. So, I came up with Endocation, a month of blogs all focused on educating people about endometriosis and raising awareness.
During this series, I aim to answer some of the questions that I get asked the most on my Instagram page, debunk some of the most common myths and provide support to people going through or helping a loved one with endometriosis.
Endocation is all about providing as much information and awareness about endometriosis, not just for those of us who have been diagnosed with it, but also for those who know someone with it.
It probably won’t come as much of a surprise to many of you that the most googled women’s health question of 2018 was ‘What is Endometriosis?’. I have mixed feeling about this, on one hand it’s great that more people are aware about endometriosis, but on the other I worry that so many of these people are turning to the internet for advice because they haven’t been given sufficient information from medical professionals.
